The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-IV) of the 22 Jharkhand Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) began with great enthusiasm at Silwar.

Hazaribagh, 15 May : The 10-day CATC-IV camp (14–23 May) of the 22 Jharkhand Battalion NCC was inaugurated amid pomp and ceremony. The camp aims to empower young cadets with the values of national service, leadership, and discipline—pillars that will help turn the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” into reality.
Organized under the guidance of Commanding Officer Colonel Antony Henry Selvam, the camp brings together cadets from both the 22 and 45 Jharkhand Battalions, as well as cadets from the Tilaiya Sainik School. Throughout the camp, cadets are receiving training in physical fitness, drill, map reading, community service, and team-building activities. Special emphasis is also being placed on self-defense, first aid, and disaster management.
Inaugural Ceremony :
At the opening session, Col. Selvam remarked, “The NCC plays a critical role in building a strong, self-reliant nation. These young cadets are the architects of tomorrow’s India.” He noted the palpable energy among the cadets from both battalions, saying that this rigorous training instills confidence, discipline, and team spirit—qualities that serve them well in every walk of life.
Over the coming days, the camp will feature various sports competitions, cultural performances, social-awareness programmes, and leadership-development workshops. The closing ceremony promises to be the highlight, with awards for outstanding cadets and celebratory presentations showcasing the camp’s achievements.
Among those present at the inauguration were all officers of the 22 Jharkhand Battalion, PI staff, and deputed NCC officers from nearby colleges and schools, including Lieutenant Pankaj, Second Officer G. N. Goswami, CTO Sameer, and all participating cadets.
