NCC CATC-III Begins at Government Polytechnic, Silwar: A Step Towards Vikshit Bharat @2047

Silwar, Hazaribagh | May 2, 2025 – The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-III) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) commenced today at the Government Polytechnic College, Silwar, with an energetic and patriotic opening ceremony. The ten-day camp, running from May 2 to May 10, has brought together 597 cadets and 50 instructors and staff from various battalions and educational institutions across the region.

Inaugurating the camp, Colonel Antony Henry Selvam, Commanding Officer of 22 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, addressed the participants and highlighted the crucial role of NCC in shaping the youth for nation-building. He connected the cadets’ mission with the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, aiming to build a fully developed India by the centenary of independence.

olonel Selvam urged cadets to embrace the holistic training being offered—ranging from physical fitness sessions, weapon handling, and leadership development to cultural activities and social outreach. He emphasized the importance of building mental resilience, civic responsibility, and leadership qualities, calling these the foundations of a progressive nation.

 

The ceremony also included an introduction to the camp’s detailed schedule, a briefing by training officers, and a motivational session that left the cadets inspired and determined. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm, discipline, and a strong sense of unity.

 

Throughout the duration of CATC-III, cadets will engage in rigorous training, inter-company competitions, community service initiatives, and personality development activities. The camp seeks to develop responsible, confident, and nation-focused young citizens.

 

The NCC continues to serve as a powerful platform for youth empowerment, and CATC-III stands as a testament to its role in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
