Visit of Group Commander, Brigadier S Gopikrishnan, Sena Medal, to 22 Jharkhand Battalion NCC and Vivekananda Central High School, Hazaribag.

14 July 2025 Brigadier S. Gopikrishnan, Sena Medal, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters, Hazaribag, visited 22 Jharkhand Battalion NCC, Hazaribag on 14th July 2025 for an official inspection. This was Commander’s first visit to the unit after assuming command of the Hazaribag NCC Group.
On arrival, the Group Commander was given the GoH salute by the special Gaurd of cadets. He appreciated the Gaurd and felicitated them. The Commander was formally introduced to the PI Staff, and Civil Staff.
As part of the visit, Brigadier Gopikrishnan reviewed the entire battalion’s office setup, including the administrative office, training and camp stores, and other key areas. He appreciated the office management and systematic functioning of the battalion and commended the staff for maintaining a high standard of discipline, cleanliness, and documentation.
He congratulated all staff members for their active and energetic involvement in NCC activities and encouraged them to continue working with dedication. He specifically motivated the PI Staff to share meaningful knowledge and guidance to cadets that could support their future aspirations.
The Group Commander then visited Vivekananda Central High School, one of the battalion’s associated institutions, where he was welcomed with a welcome song by cadets and exchange of mementoes with Principal. After that, he interacted with cadets and delivered an inspiring motivational address .He gave three guru-mantras , urging cadets to, firstly, give minimum 40 minutes in a day to improving physical standards. Secondly, a devoted time of 2 hours daily to watch a knowledge related sites in mobile and thirdly, aim for 10% increase in the marks scored in every quarterly academic session through discipline, consistency and a positive mindset. He inspected the NCC office and training classroom at the school and appreciated the Principal and ANO for their efficient coordination for managing NCC activities in an organised and impactful manner in the school.
The visit was very inspiring for both the cadets and staff. The group commander’s knowledgful word of guidance and appreciation motivated the cadets, and everyone beemed with renewed dedication to continue working with discipline and pride towards building a great Nation.
